Hooked on Essential Oils

I can be dramatic. I learned about the value of the essential oils in a dramatic way. I was up in Boise at my friend Andra's home. She is in the process of moving in, so I went to her garage to find some craft stuff. There were a few broken down boxes in the pathway to where I wanted to be, so I picked up a box to move it when a wasp stung me! Andra heard me hollering, came running and opened her supply of oils up to find the right one to put on the sting. Not sure which one it was, but it worked! I had an achy arm, but the sting was gone. I don't get why a wasp would do that to me. I took it pretty personal because I hang out with them in the fall when I do my apple canning.

Later, I had tense neck pain and couldn't sleep, so I put on stuff called Pretense. I slept like a baby! So, since sleep is so important to me, I was a little more sold.

The seminar that I attended tonight was very informative on several levels.

The Dr. told of a study that involved Swine and Krispy Kreme Donuts. They fed the swine soley KKd's for 8 months and guess what? They got heart disease with 80% blockage! Imagine that. Then they fed swine kkd's and caster oil (an essential fatty) and they didn't develop any heart disease. That led to the fact that we need essential fatty oils in our diet, like fish oil, etc...and there are supplements for it in the doTerra company.

Another study was with young people with depression. After a year of being on vitamin supplements and oils their depression was significantly reduced. This impressed me, because as many of you know, I have clinical depression. My meds cost me over $160 a month. I want to, under the supervision of a dr., wean myself off the meds and take the supplements.

Another product he focused on tonight was a metabolic oil called Slim and Sassy. It is made of: Peppermint, which curbs the appetite, cinnamon bark which reduces the fat cell, ginger, lemon and grapefruit, which reduces appetite, eliminats fat in cells and prevents fat generation. The citrus characteristics also help with detoxing. He takes 6-10 drops in a 16 oz. glass of water, 3 times a day.

Then he covered briefly on the skin care products, which looked good too for all the aging I am showing.

But the reasons I am going to invest in oils is this:

1. essential oils don't have an expiration date.
2. I know there will come a time during a disaster or whatever that I need to have things on hand that will help my family. Essential oils have antibiotic, analgesic, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory (I have fibromyalgia, so this is really important to me), anti-parasitic, and the list goes on. These oils have been around for centuries...they work.
3. We have had a significant jump in insurance premiums, and co-pays and I really want to save money and try to learn the dr. Mom stuff. I can reference these oils and use them properly to help alleviate a lot of problems in our home. Even strep.

I know these work, and I see an need for families to educate themselves in this department. I know Andra's family has benefited from it far more than I have, but I look forward to the same experience.
